TOM MEGAN (KEYBOARDS, VOCALS) is an award winning composer and lyricist of several musical theater pieces which have been presented in Boston and New York. His work has been developed at Playwrights Horizon in NYC and at the Eugene O’Neill National Music Theater/Opera Conference. His most recent musical is SURVIVING OPHELIA, a satire about the music industry. SEA CHANGE, a contemporary tragedy, was commissioned by North Shore Music Theater and was presented in Chicago. His other works include A VISION, based on the life of W.B. Yeats, THE KID WHO WOULD BE POPE, a musical farce co-written with his brother Jack, and DEARO FAMILY, a musical about Irish immigrants in Boston. Several of Tom’s works are published, including FOOD FOR THOUGHT and BUZZ ON. Tom has received the Yip Harburg Lyricist Award from the Musical Theater Project in New York and numerous ASCAP awards for his songwriting. Several of his songs have been recorded by artists from the musical theater world. Tom is sometimes known as The Dark Prince to his bandmates. They admire him for his literary effusions, his surreal flights of fancy, and his passionate political convictions.
